CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS – HERITAGE BOARD

 Do you have an interest in local history, heritage conservation, or preserving our community’s heritage?

Sunbury-York South Rural Community is seeking a minimum of 3 volunteers to serve on its newly established Heritage Board, which will help preserve and promote our community’s historic and cultural heritage. We welcome individuals, who live within our communities, with experience, knowledge, or an interest in areas such as: 

• Heritage conservation or local history;
• Architecture, restoration, or renovation;
• Local heritage societies or organizations;
• Community planning;
• Archaeology or palaeontology; or
• A general interest in heritage preservation. 

Professional experience is not required, as the Heritage Conservation Act recognizes several different qualifications for board membership. Appointments are for three-year terms.

Interested individuals are invited to submit a brief expression of interest outlining their background, experience, and interest in serving on the Board to clerk@sysrc.ca by December 11, 2026.
